Coworkers from one of my previous jobs were part of the Vestrics development team. They reached out to me to help improve their new product through design.
Vestrics is a web application that helps organizations measure and predict the business impact of workforce investments.
Vestrics had done the groundwork through research, brand identy, and adding new features to their app. I was brought in to help extend their new branding from print materials to a digital experience.
Initially, starting as a reskin of the current UI, we decided to continue to push the user experience with some larger user flow updates. A majority of the team worked remotely, so we kept communication as open as possible and relied on tools, such as Invision App, for the review process.
As a team we established a few words to describe the application – Secure, Progressive, Simple. This would help us remain focused and moving in the right direction. Next, we worked through a few rounds of wireframe sketches and quick comps to solidify our ideas. We iterated on those until they were ready for development.
The new interface allows the user to map out their investment plans and programs visually. They can customize their data directly in the application to predict other plans, and it automatically calculates the best options. The web app successfully and simply helps users measure and predict the impact of workforce investments. Pretty smart, huh?
